unbekannte guitaren/unknown guitar

Beitrag von jeandavidblanc »

Hi there... I've got a few picture of a guitar I believe is german. (or at least from German, Viennese inspiration). The instrument was sold in Norway by the dealer written on the tag. It's got X bracing.

Kan someone help me identifying this guitar and translate my question ? Thanks

Hello,

the instrument looks like a guitar from Markneukirchen. Can you send some better pictures?

Greetings

Hi,

this guitar was sold by the instrument trader P. L. Dieseth from Kristiania. Kristiana is the old name for the capital city of Norway. Now known as OSLO. The name Kristiana for Oslo existence till 1925.
Peder Larsen Dieseth lives from 1851-1936.

Your guitar looks like a Vogtland or Egerland build instrument at the beginning of the 20th century. The inlays at the soundhole and the inlays on the top (near the strap button) are typical for guitars of that region and that time.

Nice guitar! I hope this helps!

Hi there... I unfortunately don't have other pictures... I had to downsize them for this forum, they've lost quality.

Does anybody know a bit more about Peder Larsen Dieseth.. I don't think it's possible to put a brand or a name on the guitar itself but maybe it's possible to find who Peder Larsen Dieseth got his guitars from.

Thanks to everybody.. keep digging

No, in my opinion there is no chance to get info´s about the builder because at that time so much people in the region Vogtland/Egerland build so many guitars in that style.

 Have you mirrored the guitar inside?

Send me better detail pictures of the guitar on my e-mail adress! The tuners could tell something about the building date!
